A look at the latest information on our new awards program plus the Lokar Top 25, Top 5,
and the American Tri-Five Association's Tri-Five of the Year and other awards through the years!
The TOP 25, TOP 5 and Tri-Five of the Year program will be run exactly the same way with only one twist: to be considered for the coveted TOP 25, you MUST be parked in the new designated American Tri-Five Association (ATFA) Show Field on Friday by 10am. Parking in this area will be limited to about 100 cars, so don’t sleep in if you want a spot! These cars are the top of the top and are normally fresh new builds from all around the country. With the competing cars in one area, the coveted Lokar Top 25 spots will be a sight to behold for all and will make finding all these cars much easier for our car show staff. Vehicles will be pre-qualified as they drive into the show area by our staff.
The ATFA All Stars. The only downfall to being picked for a TOP 25 at the Tri-Five Nationals is that once a vehicle has been picked, you cannot compete for TOP 25 at a future Tri-Five Nationals with that same vehicle unless significant changes have been made to the vehicles over all appearance. We have now had 150 amazing cars and trucks bestowed the honor of being picked a TOP 25, and we want to see them all back at the show. On Thursday, the American Tri-Five Association Show Field will be open to all past TOP 25 winners. Naturally, this also includes all past TOP 5 and Tri-Five of the Year Winners as well. All vehicles should be parked by 10am to qualify to win a place in the “ATFA All Stars.” Each year, our past winners who are at the Tri-Five Nationals will compete for a place in our version of The ATFA Hall of Fame. The first six Tri-Five of the Year winners will automatically be inducted into the All Stars and be acknowledged on the starting line Saturday night at the awards, along with three selected competing vehicles that are presented the honor at the 8th Danchuk Tri-Five Nationals. A panel of industry judges will judge all the entries that are present by 10am Thursday. The judging criteria will be set by the panel and will not be peer influenced. This group of All Stars will be presented individual awards along with getting their names added to a legacy award that will list all the names of those in the ATFA All Stars. This Hall of Fame award will be on display each year at the Nationals and reside at the American Tri-Five Association’s offices throughout the year.
ATFA Heritage Award – This award is for original, restored original, and factory appearing cars and trucks. To be considered for this prestigious award you must park in the Heritage parking area at the east end of the inside of the oval track by 10am Saturday. The winner will be judged by a panel of judges using a silent ballot system, and award will be given out Saturday evening at the awards. The Heritage parking area will be open all day Thursday, Friday and Saturday in front of the ATFA hospitality tent in the center of the oval for these type of “Heritage” cars and trucks. We want to celebrate the way these amazing vehicles looked when they left the dealerships, and this parking area is for all to enjoy and take advantage of for the entire weekend.
On Saturday we are inviting 4 different groups to park in the American Tri-Five Association Show Field to be honored and compete for very special awards. Space will be limited, and vehicles will be pre-qualified as they drive into the show area. To be considered for awards you must be parked by 10am. Space is limited.
ATFA’s Pick for Best Under 35. Celebrating the young guns in our hobby, we invite these young Tri-Five owners to strut their stuff and hang out and compete with other young owners. The future of our hobby will be in this group!
ATFA’s Perfect Patina. In the past few years, patina’d cars have become the rage and we want to celebrate them. Patina must be combined with some upgrades to either engine, suspension or interior.
ATFA’s Home Built Hot Rodz. There are still many of us that build our own cars at home, in our garages, with our own two hands and maybe a hand or two from our friends. This award is to spotlight these cars and their builders.
ATFA TOP Truck. Trucks continue to gain popularity, and we want to support this trend. If you think you have what it takes to compete for TOP Truck don’t miss parking with the other contenders in this special parking area on Saturday.
